What happens if you just pay off old tickets that have a hold on the renewal of your driver license in Texas?

This is the least effective way to remove a hold on your driver license because every ticket paid will cause a permanent conviction on your driving record.  These convictions can then cause another suspension of your driving privileges.  There are many people who do pay their tickets off in this way only to find that The Department of Public Safety has taken a new suspension action against them for all the reported convictions due to the tickets that were paid.  In order to protect your driving record and reinstate your driving privileges, do not just pay your traffic tickets off in Texas without consulting a lawyer.
