Forgery Charge Dismissed Against Dallas Justice of the Peace Clerk

Criminal Defense Lawyer North Texas
DALLAS, Texas – A forgery charge against a Dallas County Justice of the Peace clerk was dismissed earlier this month, following an investigation that found insufficient evidence to prove the alleged crime. The clerk had been accused of forging a document in an eviction case.
According to the order to dismiss, filed on March 18, 2025, Dallas County prosecutors stated they could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant had committed forgery.
Attorney Jeffrey Beltz, representing the clerk, confirmed to The Dallas Morning News that forensic analysis concluded the document in question was not, in fact, forged. Beltz expressed relief for his client, noting that she has been “through the ringer” and is now focused on healing from the ordeal.
“The integrity of the court is important, and people have to trust that the court system is going to work for them,” stated Jeffrey Beltz. “The integrity of this court is — and always has been — fine, and this dismissal proves that.”
This dismissal underscores the importance of thorough investigation and the presumption of innocence in the legal system. The Beltz Law Group is committed to defending the rights of individuals facing criminal accusations, ensuring due process and a fair outcome.
