DPS has recently completed its increased patrols, specifically to target DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) drivers, as well as speeders and those committing other traffic violations. The beefed-up trooper presence began on June 26th and ran until Tuesday, July 7th, 2015.
These increased patrols are very common leading up to holiday weekends and are intended to remove potentially dangerous drivers off the roads during times when Texas-area traffic is busier-than-usual with holiday travelers.
During a similar enforcement period last July, there were over 1,000 DWI arrests and over 15,000 citations for speeding.
If you received a traffic citation over the July 4th weekend or were arrested and need to speak to one of our criminal defense attorneys regarding a traffic ticket, outstanding warrant, DWI, or other related matter, contact our office at 214-321-4105.
We look forward to assisting you.
