In the past, a person could expect to appear only once in Dallas Municipal Court in order to have a chance at getting a speeding ticket dismissed. However, now it takes 4 separate appearances. The appearances are as follows:
- Getting the actual court date
- Attending a pre-trial conference hearing
- Attending a pre-trial hearing
- Attending the trial setting
If an attorney is retained, then they can attend the first two appearances in Dallas Municipal Court for you. However, in order to have an opportunity at dismissal, you are going to be required to attend court with your lawyer on the final two settings.
